Job Details

Role: CyberFlood Specialist

Location: Remote

Duration: 12+ month

Must haves:

  • Direct experience using CLIENT CyberFlood for security testing and traffic generation
  • Strong knowledge of networking, SASE, SD-WAN, Zero Trust, and application traffic flows
  • Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK framework and hands-on validation of firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPNs

Job Summary:

We are seeking a CyberFlood Specialist to support the deployment and validation of application-aware systems, including firewalls, SD-WAN, SASE, DPI engines, and more. This role is crucial for simulating realistic application and security traffic to ensure the performance, scalability, and security efficacy of next-gen network infrastructures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute performance, scalability, and security validation tests using Spirent CyberFlood across physical, virtual, and cloud-native environments.
  • Emulate hyper-realistic legitimate and hacker traffic, leveraging the latest applications, malware, and attack techniques from the Spirent TestCloud database.
  • Implement MITRE ATT&CK framework methodologies to model security vulnerabilities and evaluate device defenses.
  • Validate application QoS policies, zero-trust architecture (ZTNA) performance, encrypted tunnel capacities (IPSec, SSL VPN), and next-gen web protocols (HTTP/2, HTTP/3).
  • Conduct malware and evasion technique testing, including encrypted attack scenarios and infected host emulation.
  • Configure and manage CyberFlood platforms (CF30, C100-S3, CF400, CFv, CFc) to simulate global-scale network traffic and behavior.
  • Create custom application and protocol traffic scenarios without scripting and leverage automation via RESTful API for regression and continuous testing.
  • Analyze test results, document vulnerabilities, and provide remediation recommendations to improve security posture and system resiliency.

Required Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of networking, security architectures (SASE, SD-WAN, Zero Trust), and application traffic flows.
  • Experience using security testing and traffic generation tools, specifically CyberFlood.
  • Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK and industry testing standards like NetSecOPEN and RFC9411.
  • Hands-on experience validating firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and cloud-native security functions.
  • Comfortable working with REST APIs, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform), and containerized environments (Kubernetes, OpenShift).

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with traffic capture and replay, Post Quantum Cryptography (PQC) testing, and high-scale encrypted traffic validation.
  • Knowledge of TLS/SSL protocols, DNS over TLS/HTTPS, and malware binary transfer techniques.
  • Ability to simulate both authenticated and unauthenticated user traffic for zero-trust testing scenarios.

Why This Role Matters:

With thousands of applications and new security threats emerging daily, validating and securing intelligent networks requires realism at massive scale. CyberFlood specialists ensure systems perform, scale, and defend exactly as designed.
