Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) & Azure Admin to support the critical role in deploying, configuring, implementing, maintaining, and monitoring the database infrastructure and cloud-based environment supporting the I-MIDAS internal data store. This role ensures high availability, security, and performance of IDHW's data assets within the Azure cloud ecosystem and supports data integration, reporting, and analytics efforts. The ideal candidate will be hands-on with SQL database administration, Azure cloud infrastructure, and automation practices to deliver scalable and secure solutions for IDHW’s Medicaid data environment.

Responsibilities:

• Deploy and configure database environments and Azure resources to support the I-MIDAS platform and related SI Hub integrations
• Monitor and maintain database performance, ensure high availability, backup and recovery processes, and perform system tuning
• Implement and maintain database security protocols, user roles, and access controls in compliance with Medicaid data governance
• Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment, scaling, configuration, and maintenance of Azure resources
• Set up and manage monitoring and alerting systems for both database health and Azure infrastructure performance
• Optimize Azure resource usage for cost and performance efficiency
• Support Power BI development by enabling efficient data access and visualization capabilities through database optimization
• Troubleshoot and resolve database and infrastructure-related incidents in coordination with project teams

Qualifications:

• Minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience with SQL, database performance optimization, backup and recovery, and ETL processes
• At least two (2) years of experience working with large-scale automated systems, preferably within MMIS, fiscal agent, or claims processing environments
• Strong understanding of Azure administration, including automation of resource deployment and monitoring
• Proven experience with CI/CD practices, infrastructure scripting, and database security and indexing

Preferred:

• Experience in a Medicaid or healthcare operations environment
• Familiarity with Power BI, including creating environment-level visualizations and dashboards
• Working knowledge of resource scaling, cost optimization, and performance monitoring in Azure
• Certifications in Azure Administration, SQL Database Management, or related technologies are highly desirable
