Job Description
The Data Security Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust data
protection strategies across hybrid cloud and on-premises environments. The role requires deep technical
expertise in data discovery, classification, governance, and protection, leveraging industry-leading
platforms to safeguard sensitive information and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Specialists will work closely with IT, security, compliance, and business stakeholders to tailor security
solutions that align with evolving organizational needs.

Core Responsibilities (Common to All Roles)
Solution Deployment & Configuration - Deploy, configure, and optimize security solutions
across complex, hybrid environments to enable secure data management and governance.
Data Discovery; Classification - Conduct comprehensive discovery of structured and
unstructured data, developing classification frameworks aligned with regulatory, industry, and organizational standards.
Policy Management - Define and maintain labeling, tagging, retention, deletion, and lifecycle
management policies to ensure consistent enforcement of data protection requirements.
Threat Detection Response - Monitor access and activity for anomalous behavior, insider
threats, or data exfiltration attempts, and lead remediation efforts.
Compliance; Audit Support - Generate detailed reports for compliance, audits, and risk
assessments, ensuring adherence to regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, and other applicable regulations.
Stakeholder Collaboration - Partner with IT, compliance, and business owners to establish
governance roles, data stewardship, and tailored security configurations.
Integration; Automation - Integrate data security tools with SIEM and automation platforms to
streamline incident response, reporting, and governance workflows.
Training ; Adoption - Provide ongoing training, documentation, and best-practice guidance for
technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement - Assess emerging threats and technologies to recommend
enhancements to existing data security solutions.

Microsoft 365 Copilot Specialist Specific:
Oversee end-to-end Purview deployment across Microsoft 365, Azure, and on-premises.
Configure custom classifiers and sensitive information types for precise data categorization.
Implement Purview DLP policies to prevent unauthorized movement of sensitive data.
Automate data cataloguing to ensure up-to-date metadata and lineage tracking.
Manage privacy program automation to meet GDPR, CCPA, and other mandates.
Drive integration with SIEM for unified incident response.
Utilize Purview s risk insights for insider threat detection.
