YOUR IMPACT As the SW lead of the System of Systems team, you will have the opportunity to lead the work to adapt a variety of different military systems and learn state of the art middleware technology developed at DARPA called System-of-Systems Technology Integration Tool Chain for Heterogeneous Electronic Systems (STITCHES) Warfighter Application. More important than the unnecessarily long name is that this is a tool that enables military systems to share battlespace information like never before to meet current and future threats. As SW lead you will be responsible for directing the work in an Agile environment for a team of SW engineers. You will help drive technical solutions for complex SW and weapon systems problems. You will support other team members through the SW lifecycle phases on the many projects this team executes during the year. The candidate's responsibilities will include managing the architecture, design, implementation, configuration management, and troubleshooting of services, as well as executing troubleshooting skills to meet stability objectives. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for establishing and enforcing strong software architectural principles, including modularity, flexibility, and extensibility, and developing next-generation software. They will participate in end-to-end integration activities, analyze user requirements, and implement algorithms to meet system performance and functional standards. The ideal candidate will possess extensive practical experience in software development, deep knowledge of software design principles and architecture styles, strong coding and technical skills, and excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership abilities. They will oversee software development teams, recommend new technologies and processes, and ensure
quality control of all developed and modified software, demonstrating a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions and driving technical excellence. Basic Qualifications
This position is located at a facility that requires special access and an interim Secret clearance to start.*** Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related discipline. This is a hands-on role that requires 8+ years of overall Software development experience C++, C#, Java, or comparable/related OOP coding language Basic understanding of the STITCHES language and development environment Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex problem statements and collaborate with stakeholders to develop simple and effective solutions. Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively with teammates and leadership Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, with experience working in Agile environments.
