Job Title: Mainframe Engineer Brokerage Services
Location: Merrimack, NH (Onsite | WLK or NC)

Duration: 12 months contract

About the Role

Our Client is seeking an experienced Mainframe Engineer to support critical enhancements and maintenance for our Brokerage Services platform. This role will focus on delivering seamless integration and development for securities industry mandated requirements, particularly in Trade Settlements and Mutual Funds Processing. You will play a key role in analyzing, developing, troubleshooting, and resolving complex issues related to brokerage transactions and large-scale data processing.

What You'll Do

  • Design, develop, and maintain Batch and Online (CICS) applications on the Mainframe.

  • Write and optimize COBOL and native stored procedures.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in brokerage transaction and data processing systems.

  • Collaborate with operations teams to plan infrastructure upgrades, tune environments, and ensure high availability and performance.

  • Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and production support (including on-call rotation).

  • Drive process improvements, technical standards, and best practices across the platform.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver stable, scalable, and resilient solutions.

What We're Looking For

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience as a Mainframe Developer/Engineer.

  • Strong expertise with COBOL, CICS, DB2, JCL, Endeavor, and VSAM.

  • Proven experience writing COBOL/Native stored procedures.

  • Experience in application development, deployment, and integration within Mainframe environments.

  • Knowledge of investment/financial services industry (Brokerage/Mutual Funds preferred).

  • Exposure to distributed technologies (a plus, or willingness to learn).

  • Prior experience working in an Agile development environment.

  • Willingness to participate in on-call support rotation.
