Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Architect to join our client's team in Burbank, CA. This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days per week onsite. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in SQL, PL/SQL, and data modeling, with hands-on experience in ETL, database design, and performance optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and optimize relational (SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL) database systems.

  • Write and enhance PL/SQL procedures, triggers, and functions for large-scale data systems.

  • Perform query optimization, indexing, partitioning, and storage tuning.

  • Architect and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models for OLTP, OLAP, and data warehouses.

  • Lead ETL process development, including transformation and validation for batch and real-time data.

  • Ensure data lineage, traceability, and documentation across systems.

  • Collaborate with DBAs, developers, and governance teams to ensure data quality, compliance, and security.

Required Skills:

  • Strong experience with SQL and PL/SQL

  • Proficient in Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server

  • Hands-on experience in data modeling

  • Experience designing and implementing ETL pipelines

  • Strong performance tuning and database optimization skills

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with streaming data and real-time architecture (e.g., Kafka)

  • Familiarity with metadata management, data cataloging, and governance tools

  • Background in Healthcare or Life Sciences domain
