Job Title: Project Manager

Position Description:

The Project Manager will be responsible for managing one or more projects and overseeing the work performed under assigned Work Orders (WOs). The role involves process management, change management, document management, and contract management, with a focus on Agile methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Oversight:
    • Manage day-to-day project operations, identify risks/issues, and recommend mitigation strategies.
    • Act as liaison between State agencies and IT contractors to ensure timely, within-budget delivery.
    • Identify critical paths, task dependencies, acceptance criteria, and milestone deadlines.
  • Agile Management:
    • Lead and guide Agile teams across multiple work streams.
    • Monitor team progress and sprint health using tools like JIRA and VersionOne.
    • Align sprint goals with overall project milestones.
    • Support backlog grooming, sprint planning, release planning, and retrospectives.
  • Communication & Reporting:
    • Prepare and present reports to the PMO Director, stakeholders, and federal partners.
    • Maintain daily documentation of progress, issues, risks, and dependencies.
    • Facilitate team discussions and collaboration across multiple Agile teams.
  • Problem Solving & Optimization:
    • Identify and implement solutions to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
    • Proactively manage risks and change controls.
    • Remove blockers and resolve cross-functional issues to maintain delivery momentum.
  • Compliance & PMO Support:
    • Ensure adherence to project scope, deliverables, and compliance protocols.
    • Support PMO tasks, including scope definition, compliance reviews, and change control processes.
    • Maintain standardized project documentation templates and team plans.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing IT projects, including leadership roles in at least 3 successful projects delivered on time and within budget.
  • Strong understanding of Agile frameworks such as Scrum or SAFe.
  • Experience with tools such as JIRA and VersionOne.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and produce executive-level reports.
