Job Details

We're seeking a Certified Engineering Geologist (CEG) to join our growing team in Aliso Viejo, CA. This is a full-time, in-office role with regular fieldwork. You'll play a critical part in delivering practical, high-quality geotechnical and environmental solutions on a wide range of infrastructure, development, and public works projects throughout Southern California.

In this role, you'll lead and assist with geologic site reconnaissance, subsurface investigations, fault studies, slope stability evaluations, and preparation of comprehensive geological reports. You'll be responsible for collecting and interpreting data, analyzing geological hazards, and making recommendations that directly impact project design and construction.

Collaboration is key-our geologists work hand-in-hand with engineers, project managers, and clients to deliver timely and accurate solutions. You'll also help mentor junior staff and maintain compliance with regulatory and industry standards.

This is not a remote position. We maintain a consistent in-office culture with hours from 8 AM-5 PM Monday through Friday. That said, fieldwork is a regular and expected part of your week. You'll get your hands dirty, walk project sites, and see your recommendations come to life-literally from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, perform, and document geologic field investigations including logging borings, trenches, and test pits

Conduct geologic hazard evaluations such as landslides, liquefaction, and fault rupture

Analyze soil, rock, groundwater, and geologic data for use in engineering designs

Prepare geologic maps, cross-sections, and technical reports

Coordinate with project teams to support permitting, planning, and construction

Provide peer review and mentoring for junior geologists and technicians

Ensure adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards

Qualifications:

Active California Certified Engineering Geologist (CEG) license

BS or MS in Geology, Engineering Geology, or related field

Minimum 3-5 years of applied geologic experience (preferably in California)

Proficiency in geologic mapping, slope stability analysis, and geotechnical logging

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for site visits
