We are currently seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Geotechnical Engineer to join our dynamic team. This position offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of exciting and innovative projects, from the initial concept to design and implementation. The successful candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, with a particular focus on geotechnical aspects. You will have the opportunity to apply your knowledge and skills in areas such as excavation, foundation design, material testing, data analysis, mitigation strategies, soil mechanics, groundwater studies, and industrial remediation.

Responsibilities

As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will:

1. Carry out complex geotechnical and geo-environmental investigations, including site reconnaissance, drilling supervision, sample collection, and in-situ testing.
2. Design and evaluate various types of foundations and earth structures, such as embankments, tunnels, and retaining walls.
3. Perform geotechnical analysis and design tasks using various software tools.
4. Conduct laboratory testing of soil and rock samples and interpret the results to determine their physical and mechanical properties.
5. Develop geotechnical models based on field and laboratory data and use these models to predict the behavior of soil and rock masses.
6. Develop and implement mitigation strategies for geotechnical risks, such as landslides, soil liquefaction, and ground subsidence.
7. Conduct groundwater studies and develop remediation plans for contaminated sites.
8. Prepare technical reports, design drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
9. Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and coordinate with contractors, clients, and regulatory agencies.

Job Details

To be considered for this position, you should have:

1. A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. A master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering would be a plus.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a strong focus on the areas mentioned in the responsibilities.
3. A professional engineer (PE) license.
4. Proficiency in geotechnical software tools, such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio, or equivalent.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise technical reports and presentations.
7. A strong commitment to safety and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating geotechnical risks.
8. A valid driver's license and the ability to travel to project sites as needed.
