Job Title: Data Engineer

Position Overview
The Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining robust data pipelines and integration processes that support enterprise data initiatives. This role requires strong technical expertise in Informatica, Snowflake, and modern data warehousing concepts. The ideal candidate will ensure data integrity, performance, and compliance with privacy and security standards while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Informatica to move and transform data from multiple source systems into Snowflake.
Ensure all data handling and storage comply with HIPAA, HITECH, and organizational privacy and security standards.
Develop and optimize data models, schemas, and views in Snowflake for analytics and reporting.
Support data exchange and interoperability using healthcare data standards such as HL7, FHIR, and X12 EDI.
Implement data ingestion, transformation, and quality assurance processes to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipelines for performance and scalability.
Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver actionable solutions.
Maintain documentation of data flows, metadata, and transformation logic.
Manage data security, access control, and governance within Snowflake and Informatica.
Participate in testing, deployment, and release management activities for data workflows.
Required Qualifications
3 5+ years of experience in data engineering or ETL development.
Hands-on experience with:
Snowflake Cloud Data Platform, including SQL development and data modeling.
Informatica PowerCenter or Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS) for ETL/ELT development.
Proficient in SQL and well-versed in data warehousing principles.
Experience integrating structured and semi-structured data (JSON, XML, CSV).
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) and storage services such as Amazon S3 or Azure Blob Storage.
Understanding of data governance, data quality, and metadata management best practices.
Preferred Skills
Experience with Python for scripting and workflow automation.
Familiarity with Informatica Data Quality (IDQ) or Data Catalog tools.
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, Git, and Agile/Scrum development environments.

Education & Certifications
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Health Informatics, or a related field or equivalent professional experience.
Snowflake or Informatica certifications preferred.
