Being a member of the ASU Salesforce Platform Engineering Chapter means you will be part of a product team that supports ASU's system of engagement, Salesforce, which is one of the largest implementations in higher education. As a Salesforce Platform Engineering chapter member you will have the following opportunities:
Enterprise Technology (ET) is seeking a Salesforce Platform Engineer to help troubleshoot end-user issues and perform maintenance of business tasks. The ideal candidate will be able to provide customer support and service to our end-users while keeping the product team informed of possible production issues. As a Salesforce Platform Engineer, the candidate should have a basic knowledge of the Salesforce Platform, customer service or support skills, and the ability to communicate well in a fast-paced team environment.
As with everyone on the ET team, this role has core responsibilities that include an intentional focus on inclusion and belonging, culture, and communications. With an increased emphasis on authenticity and compassion, this position strives to embody and advance our culture.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Job Description:

Essential Duties:
- Salesforce Platform Engineer will help troubleshoot end-user issues and perform daily maintenance of business tasks. Successful candidates will be able to interact directly with customers, staff, IT colleagues, and other stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve reported issues or questions. Job duties include:
- Provide customer service and support for Salesforce end-users and stakeholders.
- Work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment to provide great customer service and support.
- Escalate reported issues to management and development teams.
- Collaborate and coordinate with Marketing Cloud and Salesforce Administrators.
- Create and maintain documentation on processes, policies, application configuration and related materials.
- Keep up-to-date with new Salesforce features and functionality.
- Work with other development and engineering teams to ensure org health and security to support the ASU Enterprise Salesforce instance.
- Attend required meetings and calls on time and with adequate preparation.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Take responsibility for fostering culture, advancing our values, and championing engagement in all its forms.
- Collaborate across our teams as well as participating in ET/ASU events and programs.
Desired Qualifications:
Excellent candidates will have experience in at least some of the following:
- General Knowledge of the Salesforce platform.
- Salesforce certifications or completed Salesforce Trailhead modules a plus.
- Familiarity with Salesforce Cases, ServiceNow, JIRA, and Confluence
- Knowledge of Salesforce Reporting and Dashboards or Trailhead module completion.
- Demonstrated aptitude for learning new technologies.
- Experience troubleshooting and the ability to analyze and resolve difficult problems quickly.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical staff.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
- Self-motivated and able to follow through on tasks and projects without requiring direct, frequent supervision.
