Title:

Sr. Network and Systems Administrator

KBR's Defense System Engineering (DSE) business unit is seeking to hire an advanced Network/Systems Administrator, with an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility that can work independently with little to no day-to-day supervision. The candidate must be a highly motivated self-starter, and adaptable to a fast-paced exciting environment. This position requires limited travel in-state and out-of-state and is 100% on-site. No telecommuting.

What you can expect: This position requires travel to other Marine Corps installations in California, Arizona, and Hawaii. The candidate will have a strong IT and networking background. The candidate will be responsible for proactively maintaining the existing IT infrastructure and installing, updating and configuring new servers, desktop clients, zero clients, network devices, Active Directory, Group Policies, firewalls, etc. The candidate will administer and support core Microsoft, SQL, CISCO and VMWare technologies. Produce and manage system backups. Implement security fixes, operating system patches and antivirus software/definitions on multiple closed/stand-a-lone networks. Maintain up to date inventory on all hardware, software, firmware, applications, etc. Create troubleshooting documentation and Standard Operating Procedures. Ensure continuing systems operability by providing ongoing optimization and problem-solving support. The selected candidate will act as a Subject Matter Expect and will be expected to assist with troubleshooting the most complex situations in person or over the phone with non-technical personnel. Implements and enforces DoD security polices and directives. Analyzes risks and/or vulnerabilities and takes corrective actions to mitigate or remove them. The selected candidate must be able to work in a professional manner during stressful situations and be willing to work in a multitude of environmental conductions (indoors, outdoors, Telcom Closets, etc.) as well as with Marine Corps Physical Security personnel in a Law Enforcement environment.

Education/Experience: (Including allowable substitutions)

  • Bachelor's degree and 6 years of related work experience; OR
  • DoD/military technical training/certification and 6 years of related work experience; OR
  • In lieu of a degree or DoD training, 15 years of relevant work experience.


Certifications:

  • IAT Level II


Certifications Required within (6) months of hire:

  • Microsoft Server/Windows Certifications
  • CISCO OS/IOS Training/Certification


Clearance Required:

  • Candidates with an Active Secret clearance can be considered, and they must have the ability to obtain the Top Secret with SCI Eligibility.


Travel Required:

  • Quarterly travel.

Basic Compensation:

Pay range: $95,500 - $119,400.

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
