Description
Overview Our client is seeking an experienced Information Technology Project Manager to join our Torrance office. The successful candidate will lead IT infrastructure projects that integrate networking, wireless, cybersecurity, servers, storage, and cloud-based technologies, including Cisco, Aruba/HP, and Fortinet solutions. This role is responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with client objectives. The Project Manager will act as the primary liaison between clients, engineers, and vendors-bridging business goals with technical implementation while maintaining disciplined project management practices and exceptional communication. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of network and systems architecture-including core, edge, route/switch, LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, and cloud-managed infrastructure-as well as working knowledge of VoIP, servers, storage, and cybersecurity frameworks. ________________________________________ What Your Typical Day Will Be Project Lifecycle Leadership Manage multiple concurrent IT infrastructure and networking projects through all phases-initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closing-aligned with PMI/PMBOK standards. Oversee deployment of on-premises and cloud-based solutions in networking, wireless, VoIP, servers, storage, and cybersecurity environments. Ensure that all projects meet technical requirements, adhere to standards, and achieve client satisfaction. Technical Coordination Collaborate with engineering teams deploying Cisco, Aruba/HP, and Fortinet technologies in both traditional and cloud-managed environments. Coordinate design and integration across LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, VoIP (on-prem and hosted), cloud networking, and cybersecurity systems. Maintain proficiency in routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, and network protocols such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP. Support hybrid solutions using Cisco Meraki, Aruba Central, Fortinet FortiGate Cloud, and hosted VoIP/UCaaS platforms. Manage infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and hybrid cloud integrations to ensure scalability, resilience, and security. Stakeholder & Client Communication Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders. Conduct kickoff meetings, status updates, and project closeouts to maintain clear alignment and expectations. Communicate technical topics in business-relevant language while ensuring engineers have precise implementation details. Scope, Schedule & Budget Management Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and risk management plans. Manage scope and change control processes to maintain project discipline. Track progress and performance using Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent tools. Site Assessments & Implementation Oversight Conduct site surveys and job walks to validate design and readiness. Partner with Estimation and Engineering teams to produce accurate bids, SOWs, and technical documentation. Vendor & Partner Management Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables. Monitor vendor performance to verify adherence to specifications and quality standards. ________________________________________ What You Bring to the Table Experience Minimum of 8 years of IT project management experience with a focus on networking, wireless, servers, storage, cloud, VoIP, or cybersecurity projects. Proven record managing enterprise-level deployments involving Cisco, Aruba/HP, and Fortinet technologies across on-prem and cloud environments. Strong technical knowledge of LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, VoIP (on-prem and hosted), and networking protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP). Familiarity with enterprise servers, storage systems, virtualization platforms, and cloud services (AWS, Azure, or private cloud). Experience with cloud-managed security platforms, such as Fortinet FortiManager/FortiGate Cloud, or comparable technologies. Experience working within Agile or Scrum methodologies is highly valued and considered a plus. Certifications PMP Certification - Required Cisco (CCNA/CCNP) and/or Aruba (ACMA/ACMP) certifications - Preferred Fortinet Certified Professional (FCP) - Preferred Education Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field - Preferred Skills & Competencies Strong leadership and communication skills for cross-functional and client collaboration. Deep understanding of project budgeting, forecasting, and financial accountability. Proficiency with scope, schedule, and resource management tools. Skilled in Microsoft Project & Microsoft Excel documentation platforms. Ability to interpret and create technical documentation, RFPs, and SOWs. Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving capabilities. Other Requirements Ability to travel as required for site visits, client meetings, and implementation oversight. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
