Summary:
The e-Powertrain (ePT) Validation Planning Support Engineer works closely with the ePT system design team to understand the potential technical risks for the specific ePT configuration being evaluated. This role will tackle various tasks from collecting the risks that were identified in DFMEAs, sorting those risks from highest risk (highest RPN = likelihood of failure times the severity of the failure) to lowest risk, and helping to identify virtual simulation or physical test activities (bench, lab, or full machine) to optimally mitigate those risks between cost and time. This team member may be involved in various deliverables from the ePT validation planning team including: gathering system readiness summaries from component & sub-system teams, creating validation one-pager status slides for NPI Gateway reviews, managing issue-lists for various ePT programs, forecasting defects per unit, & creating pro-active reliability curves to predict ePT system performance & durability throughout its life.

Basic Qualifications:
Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $45.00 - $52.00 /hour. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience. Full-time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages. Packages may include medical, dental, and vision benefits, health savings accounts with qualified medical plan enrollment, 10 paid days off, 3 days paid bereavement leave, 401(k) plan participation with employer match, life and disability insurance, commuter benefits, dependent care flexible spending account, accident insurance, critical illness insurance, hospital indemnity insurance, accommodations and reimbursement for work travel, and discretionary performance or recognition bonus. Responsibilities:
- Identifying virtual simulation and physical tests to optimally mitigate e-Powertrain system risks.
- Creating validation one-page summary for NPI gate reviews.
- Gathering system readiness summaries from e-Powertrain sub-system & component teams.
- Managing NPI issue lists for e-Powertrain systems and pushing them to the lowest sub-system or component issue list for resolution.
- Updating pro-active reliability curves and forecasting defects per unit for the e-Powertrain system programs supported.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor s Degree in Engineering (mechanical engineer preferred)
- At least 5 years of full-time work experience
- Hands-on testing experience with hardware systems (previous software testing experience is NOT sufficient for this role)
- Testing experience on fuel systems, engines, motors, or construction equipment
