Location: Full-time On-site, M-F McLean, VA from Day 1
Assignment Type: CTH
Duration: 3 Months
Conversion Salary Range (if applicable): $122-155 K
Must Have Qualifications: 7+ years of IT experience. 5+ years of experience with Appian development (should have worked on latest versions). 5+ years using latest deployment methodologies (Automated pipelines, Atlassian tools). 2 years of core Java. 3+ years experience integrating Appian with Active Directory, Ping and other platforms. 3+ years of experience with creating APIs and consuming data exposed on APIs, XML and web services (SOAP/REST). Ability to review, design and understand the standards of Databases (db2, Sybase, Postgres SQL, and MS SQL). Strong working knowledge on Infrastructure components, network, security models, EKS and Appian cloud. Angular, Java scripts and Ansible experience preferred.

- Design, develop, modify, integrate, test, deploy and support enterprise-level Appian based BPM applications.
- Translate business process software requirement specifications into Appian process model prototypes and solutions.
- Deliver projects in Agile
- Design and implement complex enterprise integrations with industry standard technologies such as DB2, Sybase, Ping, Active Directory, AWS and other internal systems in the enterprise.
- Develop and use library of reusable Appian components that can be leveraged in the enterprise.
- Participate in the day-to-day activities of the Appian BPM and Java based plug-ins development.
- Support planning activities, such as impact assessments, level of effort analysis and developer task assignments.
- Conduct and participate in detailed design reviews and validate that the design follows the approved architecture.
- Conduct regular code reviews to ensure best practices are being followed.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
- Deliver knowledge transfer sessions to ramp up new development team members.

Production Support
- Participate in on-call production support rotation.
- Jump into troubleshooting sessions if junior developers are unable to resolve production issues, and drive issue to resolution.
- Partner with IT Shared Services partners to resolve production issues.

Qualifications
7+ years experience in Information Technology.
Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field or equivalent working experience.
5+ years of hands-on experience in design, implementation and production support of Appian BPM applications. Work experience must be with Appian version 24.x or higher.
Working knowledge of Appian architecture.
EKS and Appian cloud experience.
Strong technical and analytical skills with the ability to analyze system functionality with customer and resolve production issues.
Experience in tuning the system for performance improvements and performance related system design.
Thorough understanding of relational databases, SQL, XML and web services (SOAP/REST)
Experience applying Object Oriented Analysis and Design principles.
Knowledge of business process modeling and optimization techniques, including orchestration of modeled process
Some exposure to infrastructure, network and enterprise scale environments.
Practical experience designing and building enterprise and/or distributed systems.
Experience with systems and software architecture.
