Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Front-End Web Developer to support an AI Chatbot project for DHS / DoD environments. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in modern front-end technologies and Section 508 accessibility compliance, ensuring all digital content is accessible to users with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain front-end interfaces for AI chatbot applications.
• Ensure full Section 508 compliance across all digital assets.
• Implement accessibility standards for:
• Text content
• Images (ALT text, contrast, readability)
• Audio files (captions, transcripts)
• PDF documents (tagged PDFs, screen-reader friendly)
• Video content (closed captions, audio descriptions)
• Collaborate with AI, backend, and UX teams.
• Perform accessibility testing using tools such as JAWS, NVDA, Axe, Wave, etc.
• Ensure cross-browser and cross-device compatibility.
• Follow federal security and compliance guidelines.

Required Skills

• Strong experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript
• Hands-on experience with React / Angular / Vue
• Proven experience with Section 508 & WCAG 2.0/2.1
• Accessibility remediation for PDFs, multimedia, and web content
• Familiarity with AI chatbot UI integration
• Experience working in federal / government projects

Nice to Have

• Experience with DHS, DoD, or other federal agencies
• Knowledge of ARIA roles and semantic HTML
• Exposure to usability testing and accessibility audits
