Detailed Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled NG911 Technical Program Manager / Senior Network Engineer to lead and manage Next Generation 911 (NG911) programs. The ideal candidate will act as the technical single point of contact (SPOC) for all stakeholders, overseeing network design, deployment, and operations across mission-critical environments. This position requires a balance of technical depth, project management expertise, and leadership in managing complex NG911 and public safety network projects.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Act as the technical SPOC and liaison among internal teams, clients, and vendors for all NG911 initiatives.
  • Manage and coordinate all aspects of technical requirements, network design, implementation, and risk management.
  • Lead technical discoveries, network assessments, upgrades, and migrations for PSAP (Public Safety Answering Point) deployments.
  • Oversee the delivery and deployment of NG911 systems ensuring alignment with client goals, timelines, and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including network diagrams, configuration records, and as-built documentation.
  • Create and manage deployment schedules ensuring technical readiness and milestone adherence.
  • Collaborate with operations and support teams for service assurance, maintenance, provisioning, backups, and upgrades.
  • Configure, manage, and secure networking equipment including Fortinet firewalls, Cisco switches, and routers, ensuring compliance with security best practices.
  • Conduct network performance monitoring, troubleshoot issues, and ensure maximum uptime and reliability.
  • Perform system upgrades and debugging in live, production environments.
  • Drive incident, change, and release management processes to maintain high availability and compliance.
  • Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior network engineers.
  • Deliver regular technical and project status reports to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Collaborate with vendors and third-party providers to resolve technical and network-related challenges.
  • Ensure adherence to SLA/SLO targets and security compliance standards.
  • Execute other technical management duties as assigned by AT&T Corp / AT&T Consulting.
Must-Have Skills:
  • 8 10 years of experience in network engineering, technical program management, or similar roles.
  • Have extensive hands-on experience with Fortinet Firewalls, Cisco switches, routers, and other networking equipment.
  • Understand network security best practices and have experience with security audits.
  • Show proven ability to lead complex technical projects and manage cross-functional teams.
  • Have experience working in high-activity, mission-critical environments.
  • Preferably have experience with NG911, public safety networks, or similar critical infrastructure projects.
  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is a plus.
  • Networking/security certifications (e.g., CCNP, Fortinet NSE) are a plus.
