Duration: 6 months contract with potential to extend
Pay Range: $75-$80/HR on W2
Job Overview:
The Information Security Engineer 4 - Contingent will play a critical role in consulting on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Information Security Engineering. The candidate will review and analyze multifaceted challenges, contribute to the resolution of complex situations, and collaborate strategically with internal teams to ensure compliance and deliverables are met. This position requires a strong background in application security, DevSecOps, and secure software development practices.

Responsibilities:

• Consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Information Security Engineering.
• Review and analyze multifaceted, larger-scale, or longer-term Information Security Engineering challenges.
• Contribute to the resolution of complex situations requiring a solid understanding of policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
• Manage security automation tools with a focus on SCA (e.g., Checkmarx One, BlackDuck) and other tools in the ecosystem.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure SCA vulnerabilities are identified and recorded per application security policies.
• Work with security architecture teams to design vulnerability management workflows and establish best practices.
• Provide security training and outreach for internal development teams.
• Conduct adversarial security analysis and recommend cutting-edge tools and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with governance teams, risk & compliance partners on audits (e.g., SOC 2, PCI DSS).
• Enhance and support container security tools and platforms.
• Design and build advanced security solutions to strengthen open-source software supply chains.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of Information Security Engineering experience or equivalent through work, consulting, training, military experience, or education.
• 7+ years of experience as an Application Security and DevSecOps engineer.
• Strong background in software development with experience in programming languages such as .Net C#, Java, RUST, or C++.
• Ability to write automation scripts in Python or PowerShell.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and related technologies (e.g., GitHub, Jenkins, Maven, Artifactory).
• Good understanding of the Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• Strong knowledge of OWASP Top 10 or CWE.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to create documentation on SCA procedures and tool configurations.
• Familiarity with AI tools for false positives reduction and auto code remediation is preferred.
• Experience with Jira/Confluence is required.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Certification in information security (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH).
• Experience with container security technologies like Kubernetes and OpenShift.
• Experience generating Software Bill of Materials (SBOMs) using CycloneDX or SPDX.
