Fraud Investigator, Sr. Professional - Grade 9
Role Responsibilities
Under moderate supervision by the Fraud Manager, utilize a common approach to solving business process problems related to fraud prevention and investigation. Identify, track, and report, any fraud cases that occur as a result of the movement of money.
- Responsible for investigating suspicious activity alerts generated by the FraudNet detection system.
- Investigate reported fraud activity that was identified outside of the fraud model. Provide clear explanation of fraud strategy and recommend improvements to proactively identify similar fraud in the future.
- Identify and share unusual transaction behavior patterns with leadership and the broader fraud team
- Document investigative actions.
- Provide accurate and timely information within the established corporate and department performance metrics.
- Manage escalated issues as needed.
- Complete needed maintenance and updates to the Fiserv fraud model files.
- Comfortable with having substantial latitude for un-reviewed action or decision.
Requirements
- 4 year college degree or 6 years of experience of relevant experience or, advanced degree in applicable field
- Candidate must possess excellent time management and multi-tasking skills
- Experience with fraud industry tools and technologies.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in fraud prevention and investigation or equivalent specialty.
- Experience with ACH Operations and/or electronic payment processing preferred.
- Financial Crime Investigator certification or equivalent.
- Experience with industry payment systems: including but not limited to Automated Clearing House (ACH), Card Networks, Fed Wire (Domestic Wire Transfers).
- Strong analytical skills are necessary to help quickly identify suspicious behavior and track subscriber patterns.
- Possess the initiative and drive to be able to work independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
