RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Dallas, TX that is seeking a Lead Software Engineer.
Summary:
We are seeking a Software Engineer to support and enhance enterprise-wide scanning tools such as SonarQube, Veracode, and GitHub Advanced Security Scanning. These tools are critical to our modern delivery platform and play a key role in our LevelUp! Initiative to embed security practices earlier in the software development lifecycle. This role is ideal for someone passionate about security and automation, who enjoys working across teams to improve developer experience and security posture at scale.
Responsibilities:
* Enhance and maintain scanning tools and integrations across the CI/CD pipeline
* Automate workflows to improve developer efficiency and enforce security policies
* Collaborate with developers and cross-functional teams to implement secure coding practices
* Troubleshoot and optimize scripts, workflows, and tool integrations
* Contribute to innovation efforts that improve the security and quality of enterprise software
REQUIREMENTS:
* 2-3 years of software engineering experience
* Proficiency in JavaScript and Python
* Experience with REST APIs, Git, and shell scripting (e.g., Bash, PowerShell)
* Strong understanding of JSON and YAML
* Ability to analyze high-level requirements and deliver functional solutions
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Nice-to-Have:
* Familiarity with shift-left practices and secure coding principles
* Experience with Regex for pattern-based detections or validations
* Knowledge of SAST, SCA, or code quality scanning tools
* Experience with GitHub and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
