Ready to apply your AI and machine learning skills to real-world challenges? As a Junior AI Engineer, you'll be part of a mission-focused AI Delivery team supporting the U.S. Air Force. From day one, your passion for AI, curiosity about new technologies, and strong problem-solving mindset will help shape the future of national defense.
In this role, you'll help design, build, and deploy AI solutions that tackle complex operational problems. You'll work alongside experienced data scientists, M&S experts, and software engineers to experiment with state-of-the-art machine learning (ML) models, evaluate their performance, and integrate them into production systems that support warfighter decision-making.
Whether it's applying foundational models, fine-tuning LLMs, or contributing to custom solutions, you'll get hands-on experience with a wide range of AI technologies. Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $55,200.00 to $126,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. You Have:
- Experience with ML, deep learning, or data science
- Knowledge of Python and ML frameworks, such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn
- Ability to analyze data, train and evaluate models, and explain results clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
- Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or Mathematics field
Nice If You Have:
- Experience with deploying ML models using Docker, FastAPI, or MLflow, working on team-based software projects, or using version control, such as Git
- Knowledge of responsible AI principles, LLMs, or MLOps best practices
- Ability to contribute to a cross-functional technical team, take initiative in exploring new tools, and adapt quickly to shifting priorities
- Secret clearance
- Master's degree in a related field
- CompTIA Security+, AWS Certified Machine Learning - Specialty, or similar certification
