One of our Oil & Gas client is seeking a professional Data Scientist who can start immediately on an ongoing project. This is 100% Remote opportunity. Candidates should have exceptional communication as it requires Stakeholder Management and Presentations.

Overview:
Team works on predictive models related to machine vision work (maintenance, anomaly detection, etc. to prevent injuries and breakdowns). Big data stream, assets have sensors measuring heat and vibrations. Someone from an industrial or energy background would do well, not someone from purely academia / finance. This role is a generalist role and will assist the team on various projects.
This position will be required to visit stakeholders on site at the beginning of the contract, will not require additional travel.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze structured and unstructured datasets to extract meaningful insights.
- Build, test, and deploy predictive models using Python-based machine learning libraries.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into data solutions.
- Develop data pipelines and workflows, ideally within Databricks.
Required:
- 5+ years of professional experience as a Data Scientist.
- Experience working with clients in the industrial or energy sector(experience working on models related to physical assets, not financial forecasting).
- Proficient in Python and related data science libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, etc.).
- Familiarity withDatabricks or similar cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Spark, Azure, AWS).
- Hands-on experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly).
