Role Overview:
JM Family is looking for a Senior Data Scientist with supply chain management under Blake Newhouse for the Drive Program within SET (Southeast Toyota).
They would prefer to source the local market and not have some relocate, and also to avoid candidates that require sponsorship as they may convert the contractor. The ideal candidate would be a data scientist with 5-10 years of experience and can hit the ground running with the supply chain experience who was previously a data engineer. Three days onsite in Deerfield Beach, FL

Job Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist with a strong background in supply chain management and expertise in developing and operationalizing machine learning models for end user consumption. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to analyze complex data sets, discern actionable insights, and effectively communicate results to leadership and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Use Case Development: Understand various business opportunity areas and underlying data to assess potential value propositions. Including suitability for advanced analytics solutions and making recommendations on best approach.
- Data Analysis: Utilize statistical analysis and data mining techniques to interpret complex data sets, identifying trends, patterns, and anomalies.
- Model Development: Design, implement, and optimize machine learning models utilizing the Microsoft technology stack (Azure AI Foundry, Azure ML, Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure Synapse Analytics) to solve supply chain challenges, including demand forecasting, optimization, and logistics planning.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including the business, end users and IT, to understand business needs and translate them into data-driven solutions.
- Presentation: Prepare and present findings, complex models, and statistical outputs to leadership and stakeholders, ensuring clarity and actionable insights.
- Deployment: Work with architects to deploy machine learning models into production environments, ensuring scalability, performance, and integration with existing systems.
Qualifications:
- Education: Degree and or certifications in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a similar quantitative field.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience as a data scientist, with a strong focus on supply chain management and problem-solving.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Python and experience with data manipulation libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy).
- Strong SQL and data modeling skills.
- Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, PyTorch).
- Familiarity with Azure cloud platforms and data warehousing solutions. Experience with Azure Data Factory is helpful.
- Communication Skills: Ability to effectively present complex data insights and models to non-technical stakeholders.
- Analytical Mindset: Proven problem-solving skills with a strong focus on data-driven decision-making.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in supply chain optimization tools and methodologies particularly in the Automotive Industry.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools (Power BI) to communicate findings effectively.
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric
