Job Description

Required Skills
10+ years IT sourcing/contracting experience.
SAP contracting and utility-based IT project experience.
Strong negotiation and vendor management expertise.
Customer Information Systems (CIS) background preferred.
Knowledge of wind contracts and regulatory/tax-driven projects (for secondary role).

Desired Skills

Systems integrator services experience.
Utility/energy industry background highly desirable.
CPSM certification preferred.
Strong leadership presence and ability to influence senior stakeholders.

Typical Day
Engage with IT stakeholders on transformation projects.
Lead contract negotiations and manage vendors.
Support ongoing IT and energy-related projects with minimal ramp-up time.
Collaborate cross-functionally while maintaining independence in decision-making.
Occasional vendor or client site visits.

Job Duties
Develop and implement sourcing strategies for critical categories.
Plan and lead competitive sourcing events.
Conduct supply/demand, market, and cost analysis to support category strategy.
Lead supplier relationship management to improve cost, quality, delivery, and continuous improvement.
Negotiate and establish contracts, manage contractor claims, and resolve disputes.
Ensure supplier compliance with contracts and mitigate risk.
Integrate sourcing strategy with business project plans.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers and stakeholders.

Job Description
The IT-focused Category Manager will support transformational projects such as the Customer Information System (CIS), SAP S/4 transformation, and other IT initiatives by leading contract negotiations, vendor management, and complex technology sourcing. In addition, this role may provide short-term support for wind projects, focusing on regulatory and tax-driven contracts with quick turnaround needs.
This senior-level role operates in a collaborative, cross-functional environment but requires a high degree of independence and the ability to influence leadership decisions. The successful candidate will bring deep IT sourcing experience, utility industry knowledge, and strong stakeholder engagement skills to drive results.

Work Hours / Location
Standard business hours (flexible: 8-5, 9-5).
Hybrid: Tuesday-Thursday onsite.
Occasional travel for vendor or client visits (reimbursable).
