Job Description

As a key member of Visa's dynamic Systems Engineering team, you'll go far beyond traditional system administration. Our team architects, builds, and maintains the backbone of Visa's Windows infrastructure-powering secure, global payment transactions at scale. Here, you'll have the opportunity to leverage your Windows expertise while sharpening your skills in scripting, automation, and modern infrastructure management. We're passionate about transforming manual tasks into streamlined, automated solutions, and we're looking for innovative engineers who want to move beyond "keeping the lights on" and focus on building the next generation of resilient, efficient, and scalable platforms. If you're excited about scripting, automation, and solving complex infrastructure challenges, you'll thrive here.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Engineer and optimize: Deploy, configure, and fine-tune Windows server environments (2012, 2016, 2019, and Core), ensuring they're secure, consistent, and built for scale.
  • Automate everything: Design and implement scripts and automation solutions to replace repetitive tasks-think PowerShell, SCCM, and custom tools that make our environment run smarter, not harder.
  • Virtualization at scale: Support and innovate across VMware (ESXi, vSphere, vCenter, SRM) and Microsoft Hyper-V platforms, enabling resilient, high-availability environments.
  • Security as a mindset: Champion vulnerability management, patching, and security remediation to keep our systems a step ahead.
  • Collaborate and enable: Work cross-functionally to create reference architectures, drive process improvements, and contribute to infrastructure standards.
  • Operational excellence: Troubleshoot incidents, perform root cause analysis, and partner with support teams to ensure rapid recovery and continuous improvement.
  • Proactive problem-solver: Identify opportunities to automate, innovate, and streamline day-to-day operations-if you see a manual process, you'll have the freedom to automate it.
  • Toolbox ready: Bring your knowledge of storage (SDS, SAN, NAS), monitoring (Splunk, Netcool, BMC, Ansible), and hardware (HPE, Dell) to manage a robust, enterprise-scale environment.
  • Document and share: Maintain clear documentation, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and contribute your expertise to team knowledge sharing.

Why this role? Join us and grow your skills in both systems engineering and automation, make a direct impact on critical global infrastructure, and collaborate with some of the brightest minds in tech. If you're excited to engineer, automate, and innovate, we want you on our team.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
