This exciting position within our Global Support group will provide you with the opportunity to support our Commodities front office applications, data, and their integration with middle and back-office systems. The role will have a high level of interaction and partnership with investment staff, including Portfolio Managers and Analysts, as well as Traders, Technology, Operations and Treasury teams, to proactively discover and understand issues and provide potential workflow/system improvements. The candidate must have excellent leadership and communication skills, a broad knowledge of financial markets and trade lifecycles.

Responsibilities:

As an EMEA Commodities Application Support Engineer, you will:
Enhance, support and maintain the firm's Commodities front, middle and back-office systems
Work as a part of the global Application Support team based in Chicago, New York, London, Houston, San Francisco, Hong Kong and Singapore
Proactively engage with PMs, Traders, and Analysts to resolve issues and identify improvement opportunities
Document common support issues, trade flows and procedures
Roll out, setup, and educate end-users on new product implementations
Support other geographic locations e.g., monitor jobs running overnight in Asia, EU and US
Work with external vendor technical support teams to resolve issues and deliver strategic enhancements
Provide escalation support for other regions, including evenings and weekends, on a rotational basis

Cultural requirements:
2 to 5 years of experience

Technical requirements:
Experience in Application Support at a global Hedge Fund, Bank, or financial technology vendor
Thorough understanding of Commodities products including energy, agricultural, metals
Experience supporting commodities trading platforms e.g. TT, Trayport Joule, WebICE, EEX
Strong understanding and experience in FIX Protocol
Familiarity with ETRM/CTRM platforms e.g. Openlink Endur
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills gained in supporting vendor and internally developed systems
Experience supporting production environments within an ITIL framework and development environments with agile methodologies
Strong understanding database systems e.g. MS SQL, MongoDB, Snowflake, Clickhouse
Experience of various programming languages e.g. C#, Java, Bash
Proficiency in supporting applications on Windows and Linux platforms
Strong Windows and Linux knowledge including scripting in PowerShell, Bash, Python
Strong knowledge in computer networking and security concepts and troubleshooting
Experience with Cloud technologies e.g. AWS, Kubernetes, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB
Experience with messaging technologies e.g. Kafka, Solace, MQ
Experience leveraging AI to increase efficiency and troubleshoot issues
Familiarity with enterprise scheduling platforms e.g. ActiveBatch, Autosys, Control-M
Experience using/building monitoring on platforms e.g. ITRS Geneos, Zabbix, LogicMonitor, Splunk
