Title: Communication Specialist

Location: Remote

Purpose of the Team: This team works as the support team for the Front Line Customer Support Group

Key projects: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Knowledge Base & Communications Specialist to create, manage, and maintain high-quality documentation and user communications. This role is ideal for someone with strong writing skills, a knack for translating complex processes into clear, user-friendly content, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm: The role will consist of 60% writing, 40% gathering info for writing projects

Candidate Requirements

Years of Experience Required: 0-2 overall years of experience in the field.

Degrees or certifications required: NO degree is required to be eligible for this role. Experience preferred

Disqualifiers: Candidates with poor writing or grammar will not be eligible for the role.

Best vs. Average: MSFT experience nice to have.

Performance Indicators: Performance will be assessed based on how they meet deadlines and quality of work, team feedback.

Top 3 Hard Skills Required + Years of Experience

1.Minimum 2 years of Experience in writing content

2.Minimum 2 years of experience. Familiarity with SharePoint and Azure DevOps (basic to intermediate level).

3.Minimum 2 years of Experience with content management systems and documentation tools.

Job Responsibilities:

-Develop and maintain knowledge base articles, user guides, SOPs, and FAQs.

-Draft clear, concise, and engaging communications to end users regarding product updates, process changes, and service announcements.

-Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), product owners, and stakeholders to gather information and ensure content accuracy.

-Ensure all content adheres to brand tone, style, and accessibility standards.

-Use critical thinking to identify content gaps and propose improvements.

-Manage and update documentation using tools such as SharePoint and Azure DevOps.

-Track and report on content performance and user feedback to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

Excellent grammar, writing, and editing skills (English).

Proven ability to quickly learn new tools, systems, and processes.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills for stakeholder engagement.

Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Experience with content management systems and documentation tools.

Familiarity with SharePoint and Azure DevOps (basic to intermediate level).
