Job Description
Oracle Exadata is seeking a talented software developer with strong C/C++ skills and systems background. We are seeking a hands-on Software Development Engineer to design and build distributed system software for Exadata Database Machine and Storage Server, which is one of the most successful products in Oracle's history. Exadata Database Machine provides a fully integrated and optimized engineered system for running Oracle databases with the best performance, scalability and high availability for data warehousing, OLTP and consolidated workloads. Our team recently launched Exadata Exascale, the World's Only Intelligent Data Architecture for the Cloud. The candidate will be able to work on exciting new projects in the Exadata family.

Responsibilities
Building the database and storage IO data path in Oracle Exadata Database Machine and Exadata Exascale to enable the best performance, scalability and high availability of the system.
Developing system infrastructure software to handle unforeseen sub-component failures and to reduce the impact thereafter. Rather than relying on fault-tolerant hardware, designing and implementing smart and sophisticated software algorithms to promptly recover and failover from hardware failures under all conditions to achieve overall system high availability and stability with minimal performance impact.
In addition to building the database to storage IO data path that allows the storage tier to be data-aware, creating a reverse communication channel from the storage tier to the database tier to allow the database to become storage-aware. This enables the database to optimize its IOs using the fastest and most healthy storage destinations in the data path and to optimize data striping and mirroring algorithms for most efficient usage of storage.
Staying ahead of the technology curve by working on the latest and greatest technology breakthrough in key computing areas, such as processor, networking, flash and disk storage, etc, for future generations of Exadata products.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $96,800 to $223,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
