We are seeking a talented and experienced Avaya Voice Engineer with strong expertise in Avaya and Cisco technologies to join our dynamic team. The Avaya Voice Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and maintaining our Avaya telecommunications systems. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless operation of voice communication systems, troubleshooting issues, and providing high-quality support to end-users.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design and configure Avaya voice communication systems, including Avaya Aura, Communication Manager, Session Manager, and other related technologies.
  • Implement new voice solutions and upgrades to existing systems to enhance performance and capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation for all systems and configurations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, assess business needs, and propose innovative voice solutions that align with organizational objectives.
  • Conduct an in-depth analysis of existing voice systems and recommend improvements, enhancements, or migrations to modern technologies.
  • Implement and support voice-related technologies, including VoIP, SIP, H.323, and other protocols, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex voice-related issues, providing detailed root cause analysis and implementing preventive measures.
  • Monitor and manage Avaya voice systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Perform routine maintenance, software updates, and patches to keep systems current and secure.
  • Administer and maintain Avaya voicemail systems, call center applications, and other voice-related services.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in voice architecture, and apply this knowledge to enhance existing systems.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in managing and supporting Avaya voice communication systems.

  • Strong knowledge of Avaya products, including Avaya Aura, Communication Manager, Session Manager, and related technologies.

  • Experience with VoIP, SIP, and other voice communication protocols.

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues related to voice systems.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

  • Relevant certifications such as Avaya Certified Specialist (ACS) or Avaya Certified Expert (ACE) are preferred.

  • A plus would be any Cisco certifications.

  • In-depth knowledge of Cisco collaboration products.

  • Strong understanding of voice protocols such as SIP, H.323, and SCCP.

  • Hands-on experience with voice-related hardware, software, and network infrastructure.

  • Experience with non-Cisco voice vendors is preferred (Verint, Avtec, Oracle).

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
