Role: Java Tech Lead
Location: Dallas, TX (Onsite)
Job Description:

As a Java Technical Lead, you will provide end-to-end technical leadership for a large-scale banking engagement, owning architecture, delivery, and team performance. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will:

  • Lead and govern enterprise Java architecture and delivery, including microservices, APIs, cloud-native solutions, and data/AI integrations.
  • Provide strategic direction and day-to-day leadership for a 30+ member engineering team, ensuring best practices, regulatory compliance, and strong delivery controls.
  • Design and implement highly available, scalable, and secure systems tailored for financial services environments.
  • Partner with client stakeholders to translate business and regulatory requirements into clear technical roadmaps and execution plans.
  • Drive agile delivery, proactively managing risks, quality, security, and delivery timelines.
  • Mentor and develop onshore and offshore team members, fostering technical excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Leverage emerging technologies in AI, data, and cloud to continuously enhance client solutions.
  • Maintain robust technical documentation, enforce standards, and track delivery health using key metrics.

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in Java development, architecture, and enterprise solution delivery.
  • Proven leadership of large onshore/offshore teams (30+ engineers), ideally within banking or financial services.
  • Deep technical expertise in:
    • Java, Spring, Microservices
    • Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
    • API design and distributed systems
    • CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Hands-on experience integrating AI/ML and data engineering solutions into enterprise platforms.
  • Strong understanding of security, regulatory, and compliance requirements in financial services.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work on-site in Dallas, five days per week.

Preferred:

  • Financial services or banking domain experience.
  • Exposure to event-driven architectures, low-latency systems, and modern security frameworks.
