Job Details
Higher-Ed client recently had their lead architect onsite resign while in the middle of a large project displacing Cisco equipment in certain areas of their network in preparation for a migration. Their core network is still Cisco and Aruba however they will eventually be moving fully to a Juniper environment. They have 2000s switches and 100 IPS. The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years of experience as a Network Architect and is expected to have a deep understanding of both core and advanced wireless and IP networking concepts, routing, switching, and protocols. Eventually the environment will be primarily Juniper, so the ideal candidate MUST have some exposure to Juniper R/S equipment and can't be solely Cisco.
Reasonable expertise on any of the following areas would be beneficial for success: VLAN, MPLS, TCP-IP, IPv4, IPv6, OSPF, BGP, VPN, EVPN, IP Fabrics, Multicast, NAT and CG-NAT.
Additional Skills: SP-type environment, Edge/ISP connections. BGP and WAN heavy technical questions
MUST:
-7+ yrs of hands on Network Architecture/Design/Engineering
- Cisco & Juniper Switch/Router - (need experience with both 50/50 preferred)
-Aruba Install/Configuration (Meraki tradeoff)
--LAN/WAN/DC
-Strong communication, interpersonal, and social skills
PLUS:
-Higher Education / Campus Network exp
-Certifications Preferred but not required - JNCIS/JNCIP/JNCIE, or Cisco product certifications or industry equivalent are helpful.
