Job Details

Key Responsibilities:
1. Oracle Database Management Oversee the installation, configuration, administration, and maintenance of Oracle databases across production, test, and development environments.
2. Patch Management & Upgrades Plan and execute Oracle database patching, version upgrades, and migrations while ensuring minimal downtime and adherence to compliance standards.
3. Exadata Administration Manage and support Oracle Exadata systems, including cell servers, storage servers, and Infiniband networks, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
4. Performance Tuning Monitor, diagnose, and resolve performance issues through in-depth analysis, query optimization, and resource management.
5. Backup & Recovery Design, implement, and test robust backup and recovery strategies using RMAN and Data Guard to ensure data integrity and disaster readiness.
6. Security & Compliance Ensure database security, access control, and compliance with organizational policies and industry standards (e.g., SOX, GDPR).
7. Automation & Scripting Develop and maintain scripts for automation of routine tasks, monitoring, and reporting using Shell, PL/SQL, and other tools.
8. High Availability & DR Design and manage high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions, including RAC, Data Guard, and GoldenGate as applicable.
9. Monitoring & Alerting Implement and manage monitoring tools to proactively identify and address database performance and availability issues.
10. Collaboration & Mentoring Work closely with application teams, infrastructure teams, and vendors; provide guidance and mentorship to junior DBAs.

Qualifications & Certifications:
Education:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience:
12+ years of hands-on experience in Oracle database administration, including at least 2 years with Exadata systems.
Proven track record of performance tuning and managing high-availability database environments.

Certifications (preferred):
Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) Oracle Database 19c or later
Oracle Exadata Database Machine Implementation Specialist
Oracle Certified Expert (OCE) Real Application Clusters and Grid Infrastructure Administration
ITIL Foundation or equivalent (for understanding of IT service management processes)

Technical Skills:
Strong expertise in Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, RMAN, OEM Cloud Control.
Proficient in Shell scripting, PL/SQL, and Linux/Unix administration.
Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or other cloud platforms is a plus.
