Job Title: Senior API Developer (APIGEE)

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced strong Senior API Developer (APIGEE) to join our team supporting Client in Charlotte, NC. The ideal candidate should have deep expertise in API design, development, and security, with strong hands-on experience in APIGEE and a solid understanding of authentication models and cloud-based infrastructure.

The developer will be responsible for designing and implementing secure, scalable, and high-performance API solutions that integrate multiple systems and services within the Truist enterprise environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain APIs and integrations using Google APIGEE.
  • Work with REST and SOAP-based web services for various enterprise applications.
  • Implement and manage authentication and authorization using OAuth 2.0, Client Credentials, Three-Legged Authentication, and JWT.
  • Configure and manage security protocols such as mTLS and SSL for secure communication.
  • Utilize various design patterns to build scalable, reusable, and maintainable APIs.
  • Collaborate with cloud and infrastructure teams to ensure APIs are optimized for performance and security.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration issues across multiple environments.
  • Contribute to API governance, documentation, and best practices.

Required Skills:

  • 10+ years of overall IT experience, with 8+ years of hands-on experience in API development and integration.
  • Strong hands-on experience with APIGEE (designing, developing, deploying, and securing APIs).
  • Proficiency with REST APIs and SOAP web services.
  • Excellent understanding of authentication models, including OAuth 2.0, Client Credentials, JWT, and Three-Legged Authentication.
  • Solid knowledge of MTLS and SSL setup and configuration.
  • Strong understanding of API design patterns and best practices.
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or Azure).
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with banking or financial services environments.
  • Exposure to Kong, Apigee Edge, or other API management tools.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
