Job: Data Specialist
Location: 100% remote from the US (working EST hours)

The Data Specialist will support the Data Governance team by helping to manage and understand data products (both externally and internally sourced). This role will engage with business users to increase awareness of available data, guide proper usage, and identify opportunities to enhance the data assets under management. Strong communication skills are critical, as this position requires frequent interaction with stakeholders and delivery of training sessions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct data analysis to support governance initiatives and data-driven decision-making.
  • Create, maintain, and improve documentation for Data Governance processes, standards, and workflows.
  • Develop and update training materials for onboarding and ongoing enablement.
  • Deliver training sessions to cross-functional teams on Data Governance principles, tools, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure consistent documentation and training practices.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance Data Governance documentation and training effectiveness.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (critical for success in this role).
  • Databricks experience
  • Strong problem-solving, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
  • Proficiency with data analytics & healthcare data
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with Data Governance tools/frameworks.
  • Experience creating training content and delivering workshops or onboarding sessions.
  • Familiarity with Pharmaceutical or Healthcare data environments (preferred).
  • Familiarity with data catalogs (Collibra is preferred, but not required)

Education & Experience:

  • Associate's degree in Computer Programming, Information Systems, or equivalent training required.
  • Relevant work experience in Data Governance, Data Privacy, or related fields preferred.
