Description
***This is a hybrid position. The candidate should expect to be onsite as often as four days a week.
The candidate will need to be in NC, and preferably in the Raleigh area.
The Technical Specialist is a experienced resource with specialized knowledge and experience in a specific technology. The Technical Specialist has an overall knowledge and understanding of application development and architecture that serves as a strong base for technical expertise in a specific product or program. Demonstrates expertise in conveying technical and functional concepts for a specific technical specialty. Identifies improvements to project standards to achieve high quality services/ products. Able to identify best practices and standards for the use of the product. Delivers support and design for industry specific applications that require integration with statewide systems or applications. Interacts with executive level business users or technical experts. May function as a niche technical SME. Advanced experience in the required technical subject matter. Proven experience with a technical specialty across large and complex implementations and systems.
Advanced GIS Analyst
5+ Years ArcGIS Online and Pro Experience
Ability to function autonomously as a representative of the GIS Unit within a customer organization
Extensive knowledge of GIS principles, theories, and practices
Extensive hands-on experience with ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Dashboards, ArcGIS Instant Apps, and ArcGIS Experience Builder
Extensive hands-on experience of GIS analysis processes utilizing ArcGIS Pro
Hands-on experience using ModelBuilder
Ability to digest goals and processes and independently generate GIS-based solutions
Extensive hands-on experience of Python Programming Language
Demonstrated hands-on experience of Arcade applied to ArcGIS data visualizations and calculations
Advanced knowledge of GIS data acquisition and an extensive understanding of spatial data modeling
Ability to effectively communicate GIS principles and capabilities to non-GIS users
Experience writing metadata
Must be available to work in person 3-4 days a week minimum in Raleigh and Garner
Must be willing to work extended hours during emergency response in a high-pressure environment
Tasking
Provide full spectrum guidance on GIS data implementation strategies
Develop products based on current geospatial science standards and practices specific to data development, data management, and online best practices.
Listen to issues and provide solutions independently based on GIS capabilities
Stay up to date with current GIS software, particularly online visualization tools
Analyze the requirements and issues related to business requests
Use Experience Builder and Dashboards to display data
Update data and dashboards on the fly in accordance with changing requirements during meetings
Write Python scripts and Models using ModelBuilder to streamline and automate workflows.
Perform GIS scripting using Python and SQL to create or improve data products.
Testing, QA/QC, and verifications of procedures and products.
Write metadata for all geospatial outputs created

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr.
