Cybersecurity Engineer/Architect

6+ months Contract-2-Hire

100% Remote (C2C is fine for independent contractors only)

The Cyber Security Consultant is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of securing the various information systems. This role will be tasked with designing, implementing, and maintaining security solutions.

This role will take part in a new Cyber Security road map and offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on knowledge in the field of cybersecurity.

Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and maintain security solutions to protect the organization's systems and networks from cyber threats.
Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to identify and mitigate potential risks.
Design and implement security controls, configurations, and best practices across all technology platforms.
Monitor security logs and alerts to detect and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security requirements into the development lifecycle of new applications and systems.
Stay informed about emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices to proactively address potential risks.
Provide guidance and support to internal teams on security-related matters, including incident response and compliance requirements.

Qualifications:

7+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices.
Hands-on experience with security technologies and tools, such as firewalls, email security, intrusion detection/prevention systems, endpoint protection, SIEM, and vulnerability management.
Familiarity with industry standards and frameworks, such as ISO 27001, CIS Controls, and PCI.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex security issues and recommend effective solutions.
Relevant certifications, such as CompTIA Security+, are a plus.
