Lead Mechanical Assembly Technician

Our Danbury, CT team is looking for a Lead Mechanical Assembler! In this role, you will be a hands on leader within mechanical assembly, troubleshooting and testing, ensuring smooth operations from start to finish. You'll play a key role in optimizing manufacturing performance, and ensuring the timely and accurate production materials.

Your Challenge:

  • Works with team to procure, assemble, and test various equipment/tooling
    \n
  • \n
  • Responsible for all the shop activities
    \n
  • \n
  • Coordinate other team members from engineering, design, services, etc. when shop work includes them
    \n
  • \n
  • Interface with suppliers
    \n
  • \n
  • Inspection and testing activities
    \n
  • \n
  • Troubleshoot issues during production
    \n
  • \n
  • Procurement activities
    \n
  • \n
  • Support engineering/design with production related input
    \n
  • \n
  • Support services-related training activities.
    \n
  • \n
  • Coordinate shop and shop equipment maintenance
    \n
  • \n
  • Be a hands on leader
    \n
  • \n
  • Supervise shop team OSHA/ safety training
    \n
  • \n
  • Perform part inspections (dimensional/ visual) according to company quality policies.
    \n
  • \n
  • Infrequent travel to support equipment production/use
    \n
  • \n

What You Bring:
    \n
  • Minimum 7+ years related experience
    \n
  • \n
  • Ability to read/interpret mechanical assembly drawings, part drawings, layouts, etc.
    \n
  • \n
  • Knowledge and experience in mechanical assembly
    \n
  • \n
  • Equipment functional testing experience (mechanical/hydraulic/ load test)
    \n
  • \n
  • Ability to gain access to nuclear power facilities
    \n
  • \n
  • Ability to prioritize competing needs in dynamic environment
    \n
  • \n

Additional preferred qualifications:
    \n
  • Ability to read/interpret electrical assembly drawings, schematics, part drawings, layouts
    \n
  • \n
  • Knowledge and experience in electrical assembly
    \n
  • \n
  • Familiarity with welding
    \n
  • \n
  • Familiarity with part finishing (paint/ anodize/passive/ electropolish)
    \n
  • \n
  • Supervisory experience
    \n
  • \n
  • Ability to achieve level II QC inspector qualification
    \n
