Job Details
Position: Power BI Developer
Only Independent contractors
Location: Atlanta, GA (onsite) - Local preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and publish interactive Power BI dashboards and reports using DAX, Power Query (M), and advanced visualization techniques.
- Collaborate with data engineering teams to model data for analytics (Star/Snowflake schema, fact and dimension design).
- Build and optimize datasets in Power BI Service and ensure efficient refresh scheduling, gateway configurations, and workspace management.
- Translate business requirements into analytical solutions and actionable visual insights.
- Implement row-level security (RLS), role-based access, and report governance standards.
- Integrate Power BI with Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, Databricks, and SQL-based data sources.
- Conduct performance tuning, data validation, and usability testing for dashboards.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define KPIs, metrics, and report templates.
- Automate recurring reporting processes and maintain documentation for published reports and datasets.
Required Skills
- Strong proficiency in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, DAX, and Power Query.
- Advanced SQL skills for data extraction and transformation (SQL Server, Azure SQL, or similar).
- Hands-on experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and data validation.
- Understanding of data warehouse concepts (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, Fact/Dimension tables).
- Experience in connecting Power BI to multiple data sources (Azure, Databricks, Excel, APIs, etc.).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
