The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Utah invite applications for a research faculty position. We are seeking candidates with the research skills and experience required to successfully assume roles in multi-disciplinary research teams, support and develop grant proposals, and provide guidance and mentorship to early career faculty, trainees, and students. The successful candidate will collaborate with clinical faculty researchers in the Cardiovascular Medicine Division and will have opportunities to participate in both clinical and methodological research. Substantive interest and experience are desired in one or more of the following areas: methods for cardiology research, modern causal inference, clinical trial design, analysis of secondary data, machine learning and high dimensional data analysis, and applications of mixed effects models to health data. Support is available for candidates interested in independent methods of research and career progression for those applicants who wish to pursue external funding.

The University of Utah has state-of-the-art labs and excellent support staff within a vibrant academic setting. Primary academic appointments will be in the Department of Internal Medicine. Compensation will be based on academic rank, administrative, and educational experience.

Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in biostatistics or related discipline is required, as well as demonstrated excellence in collaborative and methodological research. Experience writing statistical sections for grant applications is desired.

Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in biomedical or cardiovascular research is desirable but not required. Prior experience in the analysis of large administrative data sets is desirable but not required.
