Overview

This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office.

This position manages a team that designs and supports digital experiences that align with client expectations, needs and ease of access across the Bank. Leads human-centered design to inspire innovative digital solutions. Manages all aspects of digital channel user experience and creative output. Develops a client-centric, user experience (UX) team on specific projects.

Responsibilities

  • User Design Oversight - Manages and monitors the design system to ensure that production and development efforts are implemented and efficient. Maintains a strong current knowledge of industry trends or issues. Engages primarily with internal peers and senior management to understand needs and refine digital experiences accordingly. Creates and recommends creative programs and design strategies to achieve business objectives while advancing the Bank's brand and digital value proposition.
  • Digital Support - Supports tactical efforts that improve the performance, user engagement, and sales conversions of existing digital experiences. Coordinates with wider business units in establishing consistent design support. Manages priorities to ensure design deliverables are timely and fulfill business needs. Coaches' designers to successfully implement digital solutions and experiences.
  • Collaboration - Works closely with digital, security, and technical partners to ensure the success and ongoing support of digital solutions. Maintains productive relationships with third party vendors to enhance the design practice.
  • Managerial Functions - Establishes and monitors expectations to achieve company and department goals. Makes appropriate changes to team process, procedures, and efficiencies to meet objectives. Manages the performance, training, and evaluation of assigned staff. Maximizes department achievements by providing professional development.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Interaction Design OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Interaction Design

Preferred Area of Study: HCI (Human Computer Interaction) or Interaction Design

Preferred Area of Experience: Financial Services Industry

Skill(s): Ability to lead design teams and launch consumer-facing digital experiences, Technical acumen using various design systems

Current or former experience as a contractor/contingent worker of First Citizens Bank and/or Silicon Valley Bank is required.

The base pay for this position is generally between $142,700 and $200,000. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
