We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Azure Cloud Infrastructure Lead/Manager to lead the comprehensive technology infrastructure and cloud services for our client. This is a hands-on management role where you will directly oversee critical technology ecosystems and drive strategic initiatives.
This position requires a hybrid onsite schedule (2 days onsite/week) in the Columbia, MD area.
This is a full time, permanent position offering standard benefits.

responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership
- Develop comprehensive cloud infrastructure strategy.
- Create and maintain technology roadmap for Azure and cloud infrastructure.
- Establish and track KPIs for internal technology service delivery and external technology provider performance.
- Drive a continuous improvement culture.
- Implement ITIL framework best practices.
- Technology Management
- Hands-on administration of Microsoft 365 and Azure tenants.
- Manage multi-platform tools, including Microsoft, Google Suite, and Slack, as well as ticketing systems.
- Lead tools consolidation efforts.
- Oversee MSP Level 1 helpdesk and tech vendor relationships.
- Infrastructure & Security
- Own security strategy in collaboration with the CIO.
- Maintain security posture through fundamental practices.
- Comprehensive patch management across software, operating systems, firmwares, devices, and Azure environments.
- Service Delivery & KPI Management
- Develop and monitor KPI metrics for system performance, response times, service availability, vendor performance, and user satisfaction.
- Ensure measurable technology service quality.
qualifications:
Requirements/Must-Haves
- 5-10 years of hands-on Microsoft infrastructure management experience.
- Strong background in Entra ID, Azure, and MS365.
- Must have a strong track record of ownership and ability to work solo under the CIO.
- Must be from commercial companies (government, healthcare companies less preferred).
- Must be in the Columbia office 2 days per week.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills.
- Microsoft Azure Administrator certification.
- Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administrator certification.
Preferences/Nice-to-Haves
- Ideally, experience with ARM or Bicep for CI/CD.
- Ideally, experience with security policy creation and support.
- ITIL certification.
