***PC Technician*** - Baton Rouge, LA (6 month Contract to Hire)
Description
Our TEKsystems' healthcare client located in Baton Rouge is looking for a 2 PC techs for a 6 month contract to hire.
We are looking for a qualified Tier I Technical Support resource to join their team on a contract to hire.
Requirement of 2 years' IT experience (if they have Associates or Bachelor's, they would need only 1 year of experience). They can make some exceptions on that depending on education. They would really like candidates that have at least 1 year of IT experience even with either degree.
The PC Tech team provides tier I support tickets that are escalated from the Helpdesk and will be customer facing in a healthcare environment. Candidates need to have a familiarity with hardware. They will follow a centralized processes for building out laptops, desktops, and thin clients. They are heavy on thin clients (Editing, configuring, setting it up.) They have wall cabinets (cabinet mounts on wall with motor that goes up and down, keyboard tray that comes up and down). Those are inside patient rooms. WOW's. iPhones. Need to be able to look up machines in Active Directory, OU associations, etc.
Windows 10 environment and uses ServiceNow ticketing system. This position will start off focused on tickets to get them acclimated to the environment, and techs can also volunteer for certain projects as well.
Team/Size of the environment
There are 2 Analyst II people on the desktop team who have been there for 6+ years. They just got approval to increase the team to 3 resources to help cover the users when someone has to take off. Most of the equipment is over 5 years old so this person will help with decommissioning old hardware, unboxing, imaging, and deploying new hardware with cable management. Devices have to be imaged but they have a script built out and can train.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
Communication, Documentation and coordination are key. They need to be organized and have the ability to be pulled into many different directions daily.
Will have to go into a patient room from time to time and must be comfortable with that. Sometimes also have to go into an operating room. Try to avoid it at all costs and try to send more seasoned FTE's but it's possible. - Very fast paced, a lot of devices. Will also have to know how to use basic tools to assemble hardware devices.
Techs will not have to travel to clinics. -
Salary - starts at $19 and max is $29.30 -
