Description

SAIC is seeking a Quality Assurance Tester in Newport, RI for TOMIS Applications, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality and reliability in all TOMIS applications through comprehensive QA testing as code modifications are stepped through the release process to correct defects due to required software patches and updates. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and full lifecycle support of Tomahawk data provided to the users.

Job Duties:
  • Develops and executes detailed test plans, test cases, and test procedures to ensure that all information systems products and services meet organizational standards and end-user requirements.
  • Continuously updates test plans, test scripts, and test results to reflect changes created by application releases.
  • Delivers updates in accordance with the Contract Data Requirements List (CDRLs).
  • Conducts walkthroughs of test cases/scripts with Test Managers, Requirement Leads, Project Managers, and Development Leads.
  • Provides communication and documentation of test results.
  • Supports the analysis of test results, resolution of open issues, and formally report progress on problem resolution to management.
  • Performs verification activities on work products using defined methods, procedures, and criteria within an appropriate verification environment.
  • Documents and works to resolve all complex problems.
  • Regularly creates and reports daily test metrics.
  • Devises improvements to current procedures and develop models of possible future configurations.
  • Occasionally perform other IT systems engineering activities such as requirements, design, installation, operation, sustainment, and support.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Five (5) years of experience in Quality Assurance (QA) testing, specifically with software applications.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Proficiency in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
  • Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks.
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Hands-on experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Experience with defect tracking and test management tools.
  • Thorough understanding of software QA processes and best practices.
  • General understanding of related fields such as software development and IT operations.
  • Ability to independently determine and develop approaches to solutions with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate data and provide innovative and effective solutions.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Proficient in software testing methods, test case creation, and defect tracking.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct and lead walkthroughs of test cases/scripts with cross-functional teams including, Requirement Leads, Project Managers, and Development Leads.
  • Proficiency in documenting test results and reporting progress to management.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under general direction and demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
