PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Cloud Architect / Engineer will be responsible for the following:
Lead the design, implementation, and administration of cloud-based infrastructure with a strong focus on automation and security-first principles.
Build lifecycle automation for public cloud services using Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure business-critical applications are delivered on time with appropriate infrastructure architecture and support.
Optimize cloud environments for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
Embed security across all layers, including cloud infrastructure, operating systems, virtual machines, containers, Kubernetes, APIs, and related services.
Establish and manage a robust vulnerability management process with strict SLAs, including scalable automation to secure production and non-production environments.
Partner with Information Security teams to communicate requirements, drive execution, and deliver secure solutions.
Define and execute the DevOps and DevSecOps vision and strategy, encompassing architecture, design, development, CI/CD, and secure CI/CD pipelines.
Produce high-quality documentation, including deployment diagrams and architectural artifacts.
Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for cloud infrastructure and communicate results effectively to leadership.
Train and mentor junior engineers.
Participate in on-demand production support on a rotational basis.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred.
Minimum Required Experience:
5+ years of cloud engineering and/or cloud architecture experience
10+ years of overall enterprise information technology experience
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Hands-on experience designing, building, and implementing distributed cloud architectures in Azure, including services such as Azure Front Door, Azure Firewall, AKS, APIM, Cosmos DB, ACR, Virtual Machines, VM Scale Sets, Storage Accounts, and Key Vaults.
Strong Terraform expertise, including module development, best practices, and state file management (required).
Solid understanding of Linux fundamentals.
Experience with infrastructure security scanning and monitoring tools (e.g., Azure Defender, container security scanning, API security, perimeter scanning).
End-to-end experience across the DevOps lifecycle, including cloud infrastructure, cloud security, observability, CI/CD, secure CI/CD, and production operations.
Proven experience designing and implementing large-scale, highly resilient, available, and reliable cloud platforms.
Strong background in cloud security architecture and best practices.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Innovative mindset with awareness of industry trends and cloud-native advancements, including the ability to propose and implement proofs of concept.
