Job Title: Full Stack Developer (Database & AWS Migration Focus)

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Developer with strong expertise in database development and AWS cloud services to support a government contract. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with PostgreSQL on AWS (RDS) and will play a key role in migrating Microsoft SQL Server databases to PostgreSQL, as well as developing, optimizing, and maintaining stored procedures to support mission-critical applications.

This position requires a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident () who is able to successfully complete a government background investigation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the migration of Microsoft SQL Server databases to PostgreSQL on AWS RDS.
  • Design, develop, and optimize stored procedures, functions, and triggers in PostgreSQL.
  • Refactor and modernize database schemas and queries for performance and scalability.
  • Collaborate with application developers to integrate backend data logic with front-end components.
  • Configure and manage AWS RDS instances, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.
  • Support database version control, backup, and deployment processes using modern DevOps tools.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related application issues.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide technical guidance to team members.

Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizen or (required for government contract eligibility).
  • Ability to pass a federal background investigation.
  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Full Stack or Database Developer.
  • Proven experience migrating SQL Server databases to PostgreSQL (schema conversion, data migration, stored procedure translation).
  • Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL and AWS RDS.
  • Experience developing and optimizing stored procedures, functions, and database scripts.
  • Solid understanding of AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, IAM) and cloud-based database management.
  • Experience with one or more backend languages (Java, Python, Node.js, or similar).
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, or Angular) preferred.
  • Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with DevOps automation tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Jenkins).
  • Knowledge of data warehousing or analytics platforms.
