Cloud Platform Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer in Jacksonville, FL.

Summary:
We are looking for a high-caliber, well-rounded cloud technology professional with experience partnering with application teams to bring solutions to market. This DevOps + Cloud Engineering role will design and develop the Infrastructure-As-Code solutions that our applications rely upon, as well as design and manage our internal developer platform (IDP) integrated suite of solutions. The candidate will be instrumental in the design, implementation, and management of our path-to-production experience.

What You'll Do:
* Cloud Platform Engineer will help in developing standards for deploying, and running infrastructure & applications on our internal developer platform (IDP) and shared infrastructure solutions in our hybrid cloud environment (Google Cloud Platform, AWS)
* Bring Kubernetes to a wide range of use cases across our platforms, including our own tooling, as part of our cloud first transformation
* Design, develop and engineer re-usable self-service modules and pipelines for deploying infrastructure and platforms that developers and portfolio managers can leverage at scale
* Enforce enterprise standards for source control, testing, and continuous integration for infrastructure, OS/container images, CI/CD pipelines, and configuration management
* Work with development and product owners directly and regularly to prioritize future enhancements which allows the business and the organization to scale and grow quickly
* As a Cloud Platform Engineer, you will partner with Cyber Security in assuring our modules and automation deploy componentry that is secure-by-default
* Contribute to whiteboarding the design, implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of our platforms
* Develop well defined processes for testing and integrating new technologies to meet both business and technical needs while driving the elimination of operational tasks through automation and self-service

REQUIREMENTS:
* Computer Science degree or other degree with equivalent work experience preferred
* 5+ years of DevOps/DevSecOps/Cloud platform engineering experience in a hybrid cloud environment (Google Cloud Platform + AWS)
* 3+ years of proven experience using Hashicorp Terraform for Infrastructure as Code to write advanced modules for deploying infrastructure or services which will provide automated & self-service deployment services
* 3+ years of proven experience developing and maintaining the automated lifecycle of compute and containerized images for standard use and consumption within a hybrid cloud environment
* 3+ years of applied experience in designing and scaling large server and Kubernetes environments preferably used in automated and/or self-service environments
* Advanced applied knowledge and experience using some of the following tools: Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, Harness, Artifactory, Ansible, Cloud Deployment Manager, Splunk
* Strong and hands-on Google Cloud Platform cloud experience required
* Strong Linux OS administration/configuration experience required (Linux & Windows a plus)
* Possess troubleshooting skills that spans applications, networking, and systems
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Collaborative but able to work autonomously with minimal guidance in a rapidly changing environment
* Self-driven, willing to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment

Nice to have:
* Desired hands-on experience with Generative AI
* Desired hands-on experience administrating and configuring Server OS for automated deployments; Linux & Windows

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
