RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is looking for a Jr-Mid SQL DBA/Reporting Specialist to be onsite 5 days a week in Santa Ana, CA.
Summary:
This person will maintain, enhance, and ensure our SQL Server databases' performance, security, and integrity. The ideal candidate should be eager to expand their skills in a dynamic environment and work collaboratively with our IT team.
Typical duties may include:
* Manage, monitor, and maintain SQL Server databases in a clustered to ensure optimal performance, availability, and security
* Partner with stakeholders across divisions using SSRS for report creation
* Implement regular backup and recovery procedures and test disaster recovery scenarios
* Collaborate with technical and business teams to optimize database structures, reports, queries, and procedures
* Monitor system health, diagnose and resolve database performance issues
* Keep software and patches up-to-date, and perform upgrades when necessary
* Ensure data integrity, and implement and maintain database security policies and procedures
* Assist with capacity planning, and forecast future database requirements
* Produce documentation for database designs, how-to articles, configurations, processes, and procedures
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
* 1-3 years of experience as a SQL DBA in a clustered environment or a related role
* 1-3 years of deep experience with SSRS; Crystal Reports or Power BI is a plus
* Experience working with stakeholders and creating high value reports
* Knowledge of SQL Server tools, T-SQL, and performance tuning techniques
* Familiarity with backup and recovery methods for SQL Server
* Strong problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
* Knowledge of construction application systems is a plus
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
