International Logic Systems Inc. (ILS) is seeking a UI/UX Designer to support a federal IT
modernization initiative. The successful candidate will design intuitive, user-centered
interfaces and collaborate closely with technical teams to deliver high-quality digital
experiences. This role will involve creating wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and
production-ready UI designs, as well as ensuring integration with Angular-based
applications.
This is a hybrid role requiring on-site presence two days per week at our Fairfax, VA
headquarters.
MUST BE LOCAL TO DC METRO AREA (hybrid support - 2 days in ILS HQ office, located in
Fairfax, VA 22033).

Overview
Responsibilities
Design modern, user-friendly interfaces for web applications, ensuring consistency,
accessibility, and responsiveness.
Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, and developers to translate
requirements into engaging UI/UX solutions.
Create wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, interactive prototypes, and style guides
using tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch.
Work closely with Angular developers to ensure accurate implementation of designs
and maintain design integrity across the application.
Conduct user research, usability testing, and design reviews to validate design
decisions and improve user experience.
Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and
daily standups.
Ensure compliance with Section 508 accessibility standards and other applicable
design guidelines.
Maintain comprehensive design documentation and component libraries for
reusability and scalability.
Bachelor s degree in Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer
Science, or related field.
5+ years of experience as a UI/UX Designer supporting web application
development projects.
Strong portfolio showcasing experience with Angular-based front-end applications.
Expertise in Figma and proficiency with other design tools such as Adobe XD,
Sketch, or Axure.
Solid understanding of front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and
responsive design principles.
Proficiency with Agile development practices and collaboration tools such as Jira,
Confluence, and SharePoint.
Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to clearly explain
design decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple design
deliverables simultaneously.
Preferred Skills
Experience designing for federal government IT projects.
Familiarity with AWS, cloud-native application requirements, or digital service
modernization.
Knowledge of UX research methodologies and usability testing practices.
Experience implementing or working with a design system in Angular applications.
