Position Summary
The Department of Cell Biology and Anatomy of the LSU School of Medicine is seeking a qualified individual to support scientific high-performance computing (HPC) by configuring, installing, tuning, and maintaining scientific applications Linux-based HPC systems.
The major objectives of this position are to provide broad computational support for collaborative projects on computational biology, management and analysis of large-scale omics, sequence, genotype, methylation and other biological data and integration of these data with clinical information.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Statistical Genetics, Biostatistics or a closely related field.
2 years of experience in computer programming or closely related field. Extensive experience in Linux distributions commonly used in HPC (e.g., Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu) and with the Unix shell (bash, zsh, csh, etc.).
Master s degree in Computer Science or Bioinformatics or closely related field with 1 years computer programming experience, or a PhD in Computer Science or Bioinformatics or closely related field also acceptable.
