Senior IT Mobility Engineer

Our long-time Dallas-based client is in search of a Senior IT Mobility Engineer to implement, administer, modify, and monitor mobile communications application software, hardware, and documentation to ensure optimal configuration, reliable operation, and successful integration with enterprise applications and equipment. This position will work primarily onsite M-F.

CONTRACT PAY: Up to $58/hour depending on candidates experience, etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop & ensure optimal configuration & reliable operation of mobile communications management systems encompassing Unified Endpoint Management (UEM)/Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM)/Mobile Device Management (MDM).
• Monitor mobile communications equipment and services for deficiencies, track weaknesses or tendencies toward failure, and oversee preventative actions.
• Act as a trusted advisor to other IT teams, engineering, development, and management. Perform high-level troubleshooting and resolution of complex and escalated issues.
• Act as the primary interface for technical requirements and issues with mobile software application manufacturers.
• Evaluate ongoing mobile communications hardware & software needs.
• Provide leadership with updates on emerging trends in all areas pertaining to mobility.
• Prepare purchase justifications and presents for management consideration.
• Oversee the coordination with vendors, IT personnel and end users to ensure proper and timely implementation of approved mobile devices and software, as well as additions, changes and removals.
• Develop, implement, and update standards, policies, and procedures as they pertain to mobile communications in conjunction with architecture, engineering, and development teams.
• Sought out by peers to provide advice and direction on interactions between mobility and security, development teams, and engineering.
• Apply security protocols to mobile communications systems and endpoint devices.
• Develop technical materials and conduct training for IT staff and end-users in areas of specialized discipline. Evaluate, test, and deploy mobile software applications and devices.
• Recommend protocol for mobile communications disaster recovery to ensure the availability of equipment and networking during emergency situations.
• Manage efficient and accurate mobility staging and service processes.
• Act as Tiers 2 and 3 support for field IT staff and for resolution of mobile device support issues.
• Network with outside organizations that serve as resources in development and implementation of new information technology programs and updates to current technologies.
• Research and present technical information related to relevant industry trends.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor s degree in computer science, MIS, Information Technology, Business, or a closely related field and five years experience in computer programming, mobile operating systems and devices, or equivalent.
• Familiarity with both Google Android and Apple iOS operating systems and Apple and Samsung mobile devices.
• Requires excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all personnel levels internally as well as key vendors.
• Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and complete assignments Within project teams.
• Must be able to communicate with internal customers and/or vendors to obtain and provide explanations and/or modifications on technical or other complex concepts to individuals.
